Edwin Jerry Lehman, 70, of Thrifty, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023. A visitation with family will be held at Heartland Funeral Home from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2023. Funeral Service will be held at Rocky Creek Baptist Church at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 11, 2023 with interment to follow at Rocky Creek Cemetery.

Jerry was born July 30, 1953 in Brownwood, Texas to Meina & Herman Lehman. He graduated at Bangs High School in 1972 and met the love of his life at Rocky Creek Baptist Church. Cathie Sanders attended Howard Payne University and met Jerry in the parking lot of the Rocky Creek Baptist church. He introduced himself and helped her with some things leading to marriage six months later, two children and over 41 years of memories. Jerry was a patient and kind man who just loved spending time with his family on the farm. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in natural gas but all his time off work was spent on a tractor or dozer on his farm. The kids were right there with him learning and helping with crops and cattle. Jerry was a jack of all trades, he could fix anything and if you were in his circle, you got the best of everything he had to offer.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cathie Lehman of Thrifty, Texas; daughter, Mitzi Lehman of Brownwood, Texas; son, Jared Lehman and wife Pam of Thrifty; grandchildren, Hailey Lehman, Kobe Thompson, Christian Lehman, Cali Lehman, Hayden Lehman, Autumn Ellis, Jared Lehman Jr. and Jorian McCutchen; brothers, Wilford Lehman and wife Luetta of Thrifty, Travis Lehman and wife Jean of Thrifty; nephews, Wesley Mullins & Luke Sanders; son-in-law, Jeremy McCutchen; and many friends and church family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Meina & Herman; brother, Lewis Lehman; and niece, Beverly Lehman.
