TUSCOLA – The Brownwood Lady Lions and Lions both dropped games at Jim Ned Tuesday night in their first action since before Thanksgiving.
The Lady Lions fell to the Class 3A No. 2 Lady Indians 61-13 as Brownwood converted just 4 of 32 field goal attempts (12 percent) Tuesday and none of their 16 three-point tries. The Lady Lions (6-3) also shot just 45 percent (5 of 11) at the free throw line and committed 18 turnovers with only 15 rebounds.
Kimber Green scored four points for the Lady Lions, Icess Hall and Kate Tindol each added three, Hannah Deen chipped in two and Trinity Roberts sank a free throw.
The shorthanded Lions are still searching for their first victory of the season following Tuesday night’s 79-30 loss to the Indians
The Lions (0-5) trailed 20-5 after one quarter, 43-14 at halftime, and 63-23 through three quarters.
Casey Friebel led the Lions with 10 points followed by Joel Holguin and Noah Pyle with six each Easton Judkins and Durham Brown with three apiece, and Hayden Proffitt with two points.
The Lady Lions and Lions will be in Dublin tournament action Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
