Chester Ray Zollicoffer, 75, of Brownwood

We are sad to announce the passing of Chester Ray Zollicoffer of Brownwood, Texas.  He died at the age of 75 on November 24, 2023, after a long battle with Stomach Cancer. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Brownwood Funeral Home.

Chester was born on July 04, 1948, to Manuel Zollicoffer, and Frankie Mae Davis.  Shortly after his birth, he moved to Brownwood, Texas where he was raised by Tom and Gladys Henderson. After finishing school at the Brownwood Independent School District, he moved to the west Texas region (Odessa, Midland, San Angelo) where he worked for several oil rig companies.  Later in life, he worked as a meat butcher for a local company and trained to become a DSHS meat inspector. After retiring, he moved back to Brownwood to be closer to family and friends.

Chester enjoyed life.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his sons, nieces and nephews, who all thought the world of him. Chester also enjoyed cooking, traveling, fishing, watching old western movies and meeting new people.

Chester Ray Zollicoffer was preceded in death by his parents Tom Henderson, Gladys Zollicoffer and sisters Pearlie Mae Robinson, Tommie Lee Govan, and Joyce Faye Baker.

Chester is survived by sons Alex Danson of Houston, Todd Danson of Killeen, his siblings: Willie Henderson, David Henderson, Bernetta Aweda and Bobby Henderson (Glenda), and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family of Chester wishes to extend sincere thanks to the nursing staff at Oakridge Manor and Solaris Hospice Care center.
