Ted Simpson, age 80, of Early, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, with family by his side. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, November 26 at Heartland Funeral Home. Funeral services for Ted will be held at 2PM on November 27, at Early First Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service at Blanket Cemetery.

He was born December 15, 1942 in Blanket, Texas. After graduating from Blanket High School, Ted attended Howard Payne University. In 1963, he married Paula Bramlet, also of Blanket, TX. In 1970, Ted and Paula moved to Early, Texas in order to expand their dairy farming business. Soon after moving to Early, they became members of Early First Baptist Church where later Ted served as a Deacon.

Ted served on numerous boards over the years including the board of directors of Dairy Farmers of America, formerly American Milk Producers, Inc., Buckner Baptist Benevolences, and Brown County Farm Bureau. He was also elected to serve on the Brown County Water Improvement District #1 for 34 years, serving as President of the BCWID#1 Board of Directors for many of these years.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Zora Simpson; his infant son, James Wesley; siblings, Bill, Martha, Jakie, and Don; and a son-in-law, Jeff Powers.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Paula Bramlet; daughter, Staci Powers of Zambia, Africa, daughter, Kristi Jarvis and husband Will, of Spearman, Texas, and son Brad Simpson and wife Lisa, of Early, Texas. Ted is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jessica Livingston and husband Ryan, Matthew Jarvis and wife Audrey, Richard Jarvis, Daniel Jarvis, Jake Simpson, Taylor Simpson, and 3 great-grandchildren.
