Larry Edgar Collins, 72, of Coleman

Larry Edgar Collins, a devoted husband, father, and dedicated member of the United States Army, has peacefully passed away at the age of 72 on November 11, 2023. Born on January 8, 1951, in Willow Springs, Missouri, Larry’s indomitable spirit and compassionate nature touched the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Having proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army for over two decades, Larry was admired and respected by his colleagues and superiors alike. His unwavering commitment to duty, integrity, and honor earned him the recognition and admiration of all who served alongside him. Larry’s strong work ethic and dedication were not limited to his military service alone but extended to his work in the oil fields of West Texas, where he showcased his unyielding determination and perseverance.

Aside from his professional accomplishments, Larry was deeply devoted to his family. He was a loving husband to his beloved Mildred JoNeal Collins and a nurturing father to his daughter Rita Leib and his son Andy Collins, along with his three granddaughters. Larry’s unconditional love and unwavering support will forever remain a cherished memory in the hearts of his family.

Larry will be dearly missed by his other surviving relatives, including his brother Kenneth Kildow, sister Debrah Holcombe, brother Nick Kildow, brother Johnny Kildow, brother Keith Kildow, sister Glenda Taylor, sister Treasa Graves, and sister Melissa Hudson. Larry will also be missed by his stepchildren, Stormy Windham, Philip Davidson, and Randy Nix. Their lives have been touched by Larry’s warmth, wisdom, and kindness.

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Larry’s life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 East College Avenue, in Coleman, Texas, on November 16, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Larry Edgar Collins leaves behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and service to both his country and his loved ones. His memory will forever live on in the hearts and minds of all those blessed to have known him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his family find solace in the fond memories they shared with him during his time among us.
