Funeral services for Bobbie Lee Fryar, age 80, of Early, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Austin Avenue Church of Christ.  Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00.

Bobbie passed from this life on Saturday, November 4, 2023, in Brownwood.

Bobbie Lee Newman was born on February 18, 1943, in Fort Worth to Ralph Robert and Norma Lee (Hull) Newman.  She graduated from Big Spring High School in 1960 and went on to study fine arts at various universities and worked as a private art teacher.  She married Melvin Fryar on January 27, 1961, in Big Spring.  Bobbie enjoyed painting, gardening, quilting, and traveling.  She also loved to play with her embroidery machine. Bobbie was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ, Hearts and Hands, and the 80’s Ladies.

Bobbie is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Melvin Fryar, a daughter, Kim Jenschke and husband Lonnie, three grandchildren, Landon Fryar and wife Tracy, Garrett Jenschke and wife Noelle, and Guthri Jenschke, and two great-grandchildren, Hadley Fryar and Kody Jenschke, and many loving nieces, nephews, and wonderful cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Norman Fryar in 2019, a grandson Grady Jenschke, a sister, Ginny Crawford, and a brother, Ralph Newman, Jr.
