October is National Principals Month, and Brownwood ISD (BISD) is proud to recognize each of our principals for their hard work and continued dedication to the success of students in BISD schools.

Dee Dee Wright is the Northwest Elementary School principal. She joined BISD as the principal of East Elementary in 2019. After three highly successful years at East she was offered the principal position at Northwest Elementary in 2022. This is her fifth year with BISD. Ms. Wright earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Education degree and Principal Certification from Tarleton State University, as well as a Superintendent Certification from Region VI. She also holds state teacher and counselor certifications. Wright’s academic accountability and relationships-first approach helped elevate East Elementary to National Blue Ribbon status. She leads with the same level of passion and care at Northwest Elementary, enriching students and staff with energy, school spirit, and academic excellence.

BISD is honored to have Ms. Wright serving as our Northwest Elementary principal, and we congratulate her on being recognized during National Principals Month!
