A Celebration of Life for Judy Heath, age 77, of Princeton, formerly of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, with Bill Allen officiating.
Judy passed from this life on Sunday, October 8, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Judy Carol Pickering was born on December 21, 1945, in Pryor, Oklahoma to Ruth Elizabeth (Chastain) and Kenneth Paul Pickering. She graduated from Santa Ana Valley High School in Santa Ana, California. Judy married Mike Heath on August 6, 1965, in Santa Ana, California. She went on to earn her LVN license from St. Anthony’s School of Nursing in Amarillo and her RN license from Howard College. Judy retired from Brownwood Regional Medical Center after 39 years and 4 months of caring for patients in the ICU and CCU units.
Judy was a longtime member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church where she served in the nursery, AWANAS, and the M.O.P.S. (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) program. She loved participating in bible studies at Coggin and volunteering at Good Samaritan Ministries. Judy was also a member of the Delta Theta service sorority, serving as president 1980-81. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, volunteering, and in her younger years, she loved to jet ski. After retirement, she enjoyed travelling and even took some dance classes. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her husband of 58 years, Mike Heath of Princeton; their children, Tim Heath and wife Julia, Christy Heath Householder and husband Joe, and Mikah Heath Stanley and husband E.J.; grandchildren, Chase and Brittany Sides, Chelsey and Chad Cazzato, Dylan, Sean, and Wesley Knox, and Trinity Heath; step-grandchildren, Haley, Chandler, Kendall, and Reagan Householder, and Corey and Lin Ozan; great-grandchildren, Juliet, Michael, and Violet Sides; step-great-grandchildren, Olivia and Hayden Ozan. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda Elisia, Marsha and Horace Reeves and Marshall Pickering.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, a nephew, Donte` Pickering and a niece Jenae` Pickering.
