It is with great sadness that Glenna Jean Hawthorne Brownlee went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 23, 2023, at 3:07 pm.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband Bennie Brownlee Sr. of 45 years, her father Elwin Glenn Hawthorne and mother Nelda Jean Bond Emerick.  Glenna was a long-time resident of Brownwood, Texas before moving to New Braunfels to be near her sons and most importantly her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Bennie Brownlee Jr and wife Isabel Brownlee of Canyon Lake, TX., son Britt Brownlee and wife Stephanie Worrell of New Braunfels, TX and her close friend and companion Donald C. Creager.

She is survived by her Aunt Elwana Brewster of Andrews, Texas and stepmother Julie Steele of Brownwood Texas.

She leaves behind her pride and joy of five grandchildren, Elizabeth Madsen, Kimberly Holley, Bennie Brownlee III., Britt Don Brownlee Jr, Bobbi Rose Brownlee and five great grandkids, Dennis Carpenter III., Kyler Holley, Brayden Holley, Hunter Madsen and Boston Madsen.

Surviving siblings include Karen Stone of New Braunfels, TX, Glenn Little Hawthorne-and wife Gwen of Clovis, New Mexico, Elizabeth Martin and husband Bryant and Cathy Marie Almand and husband Kyle of Brownwood, TX and Carol Holt and husband William of Ft Worth, TX.

She is also survived by Cristy Herrada, Kelly Mobley and Rob Thompson of Brownwood, TX who were very special in her life.

The list to name all cousins, additional family members and a host of friends would be too many to mention.  She would want to mention all of them.

Glenna loved the Lord and felt the call to help everyone she could in need. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in New Braunfels, TX.

Glenna was a member of the Eastern Star, alumni of the citizens of Brownwood police academy, and a member of the Child Welfare Board.

The family would like to thank all the staff of Resolute Hospital in New Braunfels, TX and Jessica Stovall for the outstanding care given to her during the last final days.

The funeral procession will begin Saturday September 30th, 2023, leaving Heartland Funeral Home, 303 Early Blvd, Early, TX at 1:00 pm and proceed to Gardens of Memory Cemetery located at 11150 SH-16 Comanche TX.  where graveside services will be held at approximately 2:00 pm.
