Moises Padilla Jr was born March 20th, 1936 in Seguin, Texas to Moises Sr and Cecilia Rodriguez Padilla. He was a 1955 graduate of Whitharral High School, South Plains College and attended Wayland Baptist University.
He felt the calling to ministry his sophomore year in high school. He met Cruz Ynostrosa from Big Valley Texas and they were married on June 8, 1957 in San Saba, Texas. From that union came four children, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Moses served as a bi-vocational pastor for Hispanic Baptist missions all over the state of Texas for 70 years. He and the family ministered through the Baptist General Convention during their summers along the Rio Grande River for 20 years. He worked for 3M Company for 27 years and after his retirement he drove a school bus for Goldthwaite Consolidated ISD for 10 years.
Moses is survived by Cruz, his wife of 66 years; daughters-Esther Padilla of Goldthwaite, Loretta and husband Pablo Martinez of Goldthwaite, Deborah Padilla of Fort Worth, and a son, Samuel Padilla of Goldthwaite; grandchildren-Dusty Padilla, Ashley Padilla, Mitchell Chiaravelle, Sarah Lister and Carissa Padilla; great-grandchildren-AJ, Erin, Amos, Stetson and He is also survived by a sister-Minerva and husband, Gilbert Ortiz of Coleman and a brother-Marc Padilla of Bonham.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-Jose, sisters-Maria and Margarita; daughter-in-law-Jamie Padilla, and son-in-law-Ronald Linville.
Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM till 7:00 Pm at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home, Goldthwaite, Texas.
Graveside service will be Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery, Goldthwaite, Texas. Interment Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery, Goldthwaite, Texas.
