Zephyr, Early, Blanket VFDs and Texas A&M Forest Service responded to a wildland fire Sunday mid-afternoon SW of Zephyr on CR 271.  The fire burned 45 acres and was contained.

Monday at about 11:30 May, Early and North Lake Brownwood VFDs responded to an unoccupied structure fire east of May on FM 1689.

One small storage building was also lost, and a brush fire spread as a result of the structure fire. Texas A&M Forest Service and a firefighting helicopter responded to assist with the brush fire.

No injuries on either fire. The fire was contained to less than 2 acres.

Brown County Precinct 2 & 3 assisted on the fires in their respective precincts.
