Joan Murry, age 90, of Early, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023. A celebration of life for Joan will be held at a later date.

She was born to Ruth and Charles Alford on February 16th, 1933 in Causey, NM. She graduated from Causey High School and attended Eastern New Mexico University. She married her husband, Del Murry, in 1953 and had three children, Sandra, Jeff, and Kevin. She was a longtime member of the Lake Brownwood community at Tamarack Mountain, and later moved to Early to be closer to her family. She was an active member of the Brownwood Senior Center, was an avid dancer, bowler, and loved to dress up each Halloween.

She was preceded in death by four siblings, Charles “Junior”, Jack, and Bill Alford and sister Bobbie Madole, her husband, Del Murry, her sons, Kevin and Jeff Murry, and her longtime companion, Bill Pierson.

She is survived by her sister, Jimmie Nunnally, of Clovis, NM, her daughter and husband, Sandra and Jim Salmon, of Early, two granddaughters and their spouses, and one great-granddaughter.
