One person was transported to Hendrick Medical Center-Brownwood via Lifeguard EMS following a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Austin Avenue and Avenue D shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday.

A black Ford pickup struck the side of a gray Ford SUV, causing the SUV to overturn on Austin Avenue which resulted in the closing of the two northbound lanes briefly.

The status of the person transported, and additional details on the accident, were unavailable as an investigation was still ongoing.

The Brownwood Fire Department and Brownwood Police Department were also on scene.
