Judith Kitchens, 89, of Marble Falls

Judith Kitchens, age 89, of Marble Falls, Texas passed away peacefully Sunday, July 30, 2023 at her residence in Marble Falls.

Judith was born February 17, 1934 in Brady, Texas to Jessie Sam Allen and Jewel Mae (Bodenhammer) Allen.  She grew up in Brady and was a graduate of Brady High School.  She attended TCU University, where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.  She married James Walter Kitchens on July 25, 1953.  She worked for Texas Hospitals for over 20 years.  She was the operating room supervisor at Flagstaff Medical Center in Flagstaff, Arizona for 25 years.  She moved from Flagstaff back to Texas in 2002 after retiring.  She moved to Marble Falls in July of 2021.  She volunteered at the local food pantry and was the volunteer bookkeeper for the Burnet Volunteer Fire Department.  She was a gourmet cook and enjoyed gardening.  She was a very committed member of the Marble Falls Church of Christ.

Judith is survived by her son Thomas Lee Kitchens and wife Heather of Locust, North Carolina; daughters Anne Halpin and husband Paul of Melbourne, Florida and Leah Wehunt and husband Omer of Livingston, Texas; brother Sam Thomas Allen and wife Nancy of Colorado Springs, Colorado; five grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband James Walter Kitchens.
