A man from Sweetwater was killed while a man from Novice was seriously injured in a two vehicle crash which happened at 9:30 pm Saturday, July 29, in Runnels County.  According to the report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the vehicles collided 10.8 miles east of Winters on State Highway 153 and Farm to Market Road 382.  Deceased at the scene was Michael John Castillo, 43, of Sweetwater, the driver of a 2018 Hyundai Elantra four door passenger car.  The driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe sports utility vehicle was Charles Ray Myrick, 70, of Novice.  He was transported to Shannon Medical Center, seriously injured, according to the DPS report. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.  The wreck was investigated by Trooper Nathan Wright, Texas Highway Patrol, Ballinger with assistance from Sergeant James Arnwine, Texas Highway Patrol in Sweetwater and Trooper Dakota Bacon, Texas Highway Patrol, Sweetwater.
