Juanita San Juan, age 89, of Brady, Texas left her earthly home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 in Abilene, Texas.  Juanita passed peacefully surround by her loved ones.

Juanita was born August 6, 1933 in Brownwood, Texas to Juan Cantu and Anita (Harasa) Gonzales.  She was raised in Brady.  She married Natalio Delafuente in Brady.  She married Antonio San Juan on July 27, 1983 in Brady.  Juanita had a love for animals.  She had several cats and dogs that she spent a lot of her time spoiling.  She loved to go back roading and have her two beers or go fishing with anyone who would take her.  Juanita had a green a thumb and loved to plant flowers and garden.  She will be remembered for her beauty, smile and spunky demeanor.  She was a loving and dedicated caregiver for the most of her life.  She truly enjoyed taking care of others.  She was a lifelong resident of Brady and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Juanita San Juan will be at 10:00am Saturday, July 29, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady with Father Terry Brenen officiating.  Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Hernandez, Thomas Davis, Jonathon Flores, Eric Flores, T.C. Flores, Tony Delafuente and Ruben Delafuente.

Juanita is survived by her husband Antonio San Juan of Brady, Texas; sons Tony Delafuente and wife Mary of Brady, Texas and Sam Delafuente of Brady, Texas; daughters Rebecca Ford and husband Walter of San Angelo, Texas, Sara Lara of San Angelo, Texas, Carmen Delafuente and husband Thomas of San Angelo, Texas, Nellie Hernandez and husband Johnny of Brady, Texas and Suzanne Ramirez and husband Paul of San Angelo, Texas; 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Charcoal.  She was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children Natalio Delafuente and her sons Natalio Delafuente, Jr. and David Delafuente.  The family would also like to thank the staff of Hendrick Medical Center and Hendrick Hospice for their wonderful care.  Memorial contributions in memory of Juanita San Juan may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1651 Pine Street, Abilene, Texas 79601 or online at www.hendrickhealth.org.
