This fall you have an opportunity to step up your game and meet others like you when the Central Texas Master Gardeners hold their Master Gardener certification classes at the McCulloch County AgriLife Extension office in downtown Brady, Texas. The Master Gardener Organization is a volunteer group dedicated to providing horticulture education and advice to the community.
The training classes will meet Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning August 31 through November 2 and will feature a combination of virtual training by Extension experts, in-person lectures provided by Extension personnel and Master Gardeners, a host of field trips for hands on experience and loads of take-home reference materials, seeds, cuttings and transplants.
The course fee is $175 for those who agree to complete the requirements to certify as a Texas Master Gardener ($80 of that fee covers the cost of the Master Gardener Handbook). For couples who wish to share a handbook the class fee is $270 for both. The course fee for anyone who wishes to take the class, but not participate in full Master Gardener curriculum is $200 with no discount for couples.
A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is required with application. Payment in full is due no later than the first class day. If paid with a credit card through Square there is an additional processing charge for use of that site.
