Funeral services for Flora J. Ralston, age 91, of Brownwood, will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, June 16, 2023, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Cole Farmer officiating.

Interment will follow at 3:30 PM in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Mrs. Ralston passed from this life on Monday, June 12, 2023, in a Fort Worth nursing facility.

Flora Joyce Cullins was born on May 2, 1932, in Coleman, to Ira A. and Thelma (Simmons) Cullins. She was a graduate of Centennial High School.  She married Elmer J. Ralston, Jr. on January 25, 1952, in Coleman. Flora worked as a houseparent at the Ron Jackson State School in Brownwood for a number of years.  She enjoyed quilting, crochet, sewing and puzzles.  Flora was a member of the Rockwood Baptist Church and the Rockwood Quilting Club.

Flora is survived by her son, Paul Ralston and wife Judy; six grandchildren, Kerri Ralston Jackson and husband Mike, Michael Ralston, Bryan Townsend, Katie Alvarado and husband Felipe, Christina Ralston and Rusty Richardson; sisters, Glenda Gassiot and Velda Johnson and her husband Sammy; brothers, Edmond Cullins and Freddie Cullins and his wife Ellen; five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elmer D. Ralston, Jr.; her daughter Becky Lynn Townsend in 2019, sister Clois Cox, sister-in-law, Peggy Cullins and brothers-in-law, Maurice Gassiot and Edwin Cox.
