June Sales Tax Report Shows Positive Numbers for Brown County

The Texas Comptroller’s Office has released sales tax allocations for the month of June.  This month Bangs led the way with the largest percentage increase among the three Brown County cities.  The June sales tax allocation reflects taxable retail sales in April 2023.  Details below.

BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $582,010, an increase of 6.40% over June 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date (October 2022 through June 2023) Brownwood has received $5,400,954, up 8.17% over the previous fiscal year.

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $192,034, an increase of 6.14% over June 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date the Brownwood MDD has received $1,744,117, up 7.33% over the previous fiscal year.

EARLY

The City of Early received $232,612, an increase of 2.94% over June 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $2,051,949, up 17.62% over the previous fiscal year.

The Early Municipal Development District received $76,662, an increase of 2.09% over June 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $671,416, up 17.43% over the previous fiscal year.

BANGS

The City of Bangs received $18,737, an increase of 17.36% over June 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $184,183, up 7.89% over the previous fiscal year.

The Bangs Municipal Development District received $2,847, an increase of 13.69% over June 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $26,780, up 6.89% over the previous fiscal year.
