Rosalie “Rockie” Cook, 77, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away on May 27, 2023, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas while surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Cook was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and devoted follower of our Lord Jesus Christ.

She was born on December 14, 1945, in Topeka, Kansas, to Joe Espirirdion Ramirez and Amelia (Tinoco) Ramirez, and was one of eight siblings.

Mrs. Cook had a vibrant personality and enjoyed various activities such as sewing, dancing, gardening, puzzles, shopping, watching true crime series, old westerns, Frasier, bird watching, engaging in meaningful conversations, cooking for her family, and playfully giving out nicknames. She had a remarkable memory and never failed to remember birthdays or anniversaries and she loved her pets.

She made annual donations to charitable causes, including the Salvation Army, and was an active member of North Lake Community Church, led by Pastor Ron Keener. Before her retirement, she held positions at CG Com., General Dynamics Inc., and the Abilene School District.

On May 28, 1970, Rosalie married her husband, Gary Cook, in Topeka, Kansas. She is survived by Gary, their dog “Scooter,” and their children: Brian Cook of Arlington, Texas; Adrian Cook of Greenville, Texas; Rochelle “Shelly” Maginot of Arlington, TX; Shawn Cook of Midlothian, Texas. She is also survived by her siblings: Grace “Gracie” Doty, Patricia “Patti” Stroth, Ulalio “Lalo” Ramirez, Gabriel “Gabe” Ramirez, and Leticia “Tish” Blocher, all of Topeka, Kansas. Additionally, she leaves behind ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her siblings: Manuel Ramirez, Melinda Ramirez, and Evelyn Ramos, all of Topeka, Kansas.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 am on June 2, 2023 in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, with a Celebration of Life gathering to follow at Gary and Rosalie’s home at 10131 Cliff Dr., Brownwood, Texas 76801.
