Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Steel, age 56 of May, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, in Dallas.

A Memorial Service for Jeff will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the May Rodeo Grounds. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Jeff was born on October 17, 1966, in Brownwood, to Sammy Steel and Judy (Graves) Steel. He attended Brownwood schools and rode bulls in his younger years. Jeff loved rodeoing. He was a truck driver for many years, a rancher, and most recently, he worked for TXDOT. He married Beverly Barrier on May 21, 2011, in Brookesmith.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Beverly Steel of May; daughter, Cassidy Steel of Brownwood; daughter, Jennifer Hardy and husband Craig of May; son, Jake Brown and wife Haley of Bangs; grandchildren, Reagan, Lane, Wyatt, Hallee, Hagen, and Amelia; mother, Judy Steel of Brownwood; step-mother, Jerri Steel of Blanket; brother, Richard Steel and wife Donna of Blanket; sisters, Cindy Steel of Round Rock and Connie Steel of Austin; step-brothers, Randy Tischler and wife Dondi of Weatherford, Mike Tischler and wife Robin of Corinth, and Steve Tischler of Midland; grandmother, Myd Graves of Brownwood; and numerous other relatives and friends.
