From KOXE Meteorologist Randy Turner:
“Today (Friday) is a Weather Alert Day across the KOXE listening area. Thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and overnight across most of West Central Texas.
Some storms may be strong to severe, with large hail and damaging winds being the main hazards, although a tornado is also possible.
In addition, locally heavy rainfall will be possible, which may result in minor flooding.
It appears the most likely time for storms to begin forming will be after 4:00 pm today.
The time period for storms to be most active over Brown and neighboring counties will be between 8:00 pm and 3:00 am.
Some showers may linger past sunrise on Saturday morning.
I would expect weather warnings to be issued from late this afternoon into the late night so have a way to receive warnings and be prepared to seek shelter if a severe storm approaches your area.”
