Guadalupe “Lupe” Davila, 88, of May, Texas passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023.
A visitation with family will be held at Heartland Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
Service will be in the May First Baptist Church at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 11, 2023 with interment to follow at May Cemetery.
Lupe was born December 12, 1934 in Georgetown, Texas. She lived in Lubbock area before moving to May, Texas to be near her daughter and grandchildren. Lupe flourished in central Texas with her family and found a loving home surrounded by a great community of people that made her so happy. Lupe was a small, delicate, pretty lady with a lot of spirit. She loved going to church and worshipping with her church family. You would often see Lupe dancing a little jig or swaying about overjoyed with happiness. Lupe enjoyed going to Senior Citizens and spending time with her friends. Many years were shared playing dominoes, cards, bingo, puzzles, dancing and breaking bread. She spent her days fishing, working on crossword puzzles, watching black and white western tv shows and taking rides with her daughter in the Bennche UTV in May, Texas. Lupe was spoiled with her burger and ice cream trips to DQ with her daughter, Birdy. She loved to spend time with her family and it brightened her day to have surprise visits from the grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, friends and family. Lupe was a bright shining light that enhanced the room and the people around her, she could always be found drinking a cup of coffee and gleaming that precious smile.
Lupe is survived by daughter, Alberta “Birdy” Burnett of May; grandchildren, Monica Donham and husband, Michael of Santa Anna, Evon Lusk and husband, Britt of Pilot Point, Effrin Reyna of May, Melissa Reyna of Brownwood; daughter, Ermelinda Garcia and husband Gerardo of Meadow; granddaughter, Michelle Rosa and husband Joel of Fort Worth; 9 great grandchildren; many brothers and sisters, church family and many-many friends.
Lupe was preceded in death by her best friend & son-in-law, Jerry Burnett.
