Lois Sue Faries Low, age 82, of Coleman, died Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Continue Care Hospital at Hendrick Medical Center.
Her family will host a visitation on Friday, May 5, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan, Coleman.
Graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Mt. View Cemetery Pavilion with Guy Lowe officiating. There will be a procession leaving the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. going to Mt. View Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home.
Lois Sue Faries was born April 29, 1941, in Coleman, the daughter of Lossie Faries and Beatrice McAnally Faries. She grew up in Coleman County and attended school at Silver Valley, Novice and Coleman. On March 4, 1966, she married Robert Low in Coleman. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2013. Following their marriage, Sue moved many times and lived in various places while her husband served in the U. S. Army. Following his retirement, they returned to Coleman. Sue was a homemaker and mother who enjoyed cooking and gardening. She had a green thumb and could grow almost anything, even in the dryness and dust of West Texas, She loved to watch Oak Island and knew that someday she would find that treasure. She whole-heartedly supported the Coleman Fire Department in every way possible, including make pecan pies and cookies for them.
She is survived by three children, James Low, Sandi Sullens, William J. Low, and wife Amy, all of Coleman; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Joe Faries and wife Faye and J. C. Faries and wife Donna, all of Coleman; many nieces and nephews.
