Elizabeth “Betty” L. Baty, 91, of Brady, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital in Brady, Texas.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at 305 Memory Lane, Brady, Texas.
Betty was born in Llano County, Texas on August 22, 1931, to Richard D. Hillhouse, Sr. and Maudie M. Bullard. She led a full and interesting life and was very much a strong and independent woman and did things her way. She had a very witty personality and loved life. In her younger days, she loved to dance and had several albums autographed by many famous Country and Western Artists. She was a lifelong resident of Brady and worked many years at the Club Café, Brady Steak House, and Plateau Hotel Restaurant. In her later years, she loved to hunt arrowheads and most of all she loved to make Afghans that were second in quality to none. She ensured each Afghan was made with the utmost attention to detail; and loved to make them for her family and friends. She loved baking German Chocolate Cakes and growing Christmas Cactus;’ she definitely had a green thumb.
She is survived by her son, Bill Baty and his wife Sharon of Horseshoe Bay, TX., her daughter, Brenda Huerta and her husband Fidel of Brady, TX., nine grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, both brothers, Richard, and Eugene, one son, Thomas Gene and one daughter, Denise Siddle.
The family wishes to extend special thanks and recognition to Otila (Tilly) Martinez Mireles for loving her and providing many years of wonderful care and to Dr. Bell, who was her physician for many years; and all the nurses and staff at the hospital, and Hospice of San Angelo, who extended the utmost care and attention to her and the family’s every need.
She was much loved and will be deeply missed.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 6, 2023, at VFW Post 3234 located at 305 Memory Lane, Brady, Texas.
