Tim Espinoza, Brown County Market President, proudly announces the hiring of John Belcher as Senior Vice President – Commercial Lending.

Belcher graduated from Midland Christian High School in 1984 and went on to attend Midland Jr. College and then graduate from Abilene Christian University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree. From there, his career path went first to agriculture in Baird, Texas and then to the football field where he was a referee for over 30 years.

During his time as a high school and college referee, he began his banking career at First National Bank of Baird in 1999. After 10 years, he moved his family to the panhandle to work for Wells Fargo as an agricultural lender, then to “greener pastures” with Happy State Bank in Amarillo. His most recent success was in Seminole, Texas as a Commercial and Agricultural Lender as well as the Seminole City Mayor.

“We are excited to have John joining our team”, said Tim Espinoza, President – Brown County Market.  “He is seasoned lender with a significant customer following that will contribute to our continued success”. Espinoza continued.

When asked why he and his family chose TexasBank, Belcher stated, “putting people first and investing in relationships is what is most important to me. I believe in integrity and honesty – I am a man of my word and TexasBank models those core values. TexasBank is on a rapid path of growth, and I am excited to be a part of that success.”

As the Belcher family is new to the area, John is eager to get involved in civic organizations to see where he can best serve his new community. He and his wife Kristi have three children, two of whom will be in 8th grade at Early Middle School in the fall. In his free time, you’ll see John with a fly rod in hand. He boasts, “I keep a rod in my truck – it is always the right time to fish.”

“We have been fortunate to hire seasoned banking professionals that share common values and ethics.  John is a great complement to the strong team of bankers we have in place across central Texas. We are excited to see his family settle down in Early, create new relationships and grow TexasBank.” L.V. Coffee, Central Texas President.
