Brownwood City Council to Meet Tuesday Morning

The Brownwood City Council will meet Tuesday, April 25, at 9:00 am at Brownwood City Hall, 501 Center Avenue.  The agenda is below.

6. Citizen Presentations
Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

9. Requests and Presentations
A. Consider authorizing the supplementation of the capital equipment fund with the Code Enforcement Penalty fund to purchase an all-terrain track mower for the property maintenance mowing crew in the Planning and Development Department.
B. Consider ratification of the Brownwood Municipal Development District Board for a Building Improvement Incentive Program (BIIP) grant in the amount of $22,500 to Brownwood Commerce, LLC for a property located at 305 W. Commerce.

A. Consider an election agreement for the Special Election to be held on June 10, 2023, with the Brown County Elections Office.
B. Consider authorizing the City Manager to sign a recredentialing contract with Superior Health Plan.

11. Ordinances and Resolutions
A. Consider a resolution to declare a 2015 John Deere 700K dozer as surplus property and authorize City Staff to sell.
B. Consider a resolution determining that the design-build procurement method provides the best value to the City in procuring design and construction services for the new health department building to be located at 305 Booker authorizing the City Manager to seek RFQs/RFPs for design-build services.

13. Executive Session
The City Council may convene into a closed executive session in the Haynes Conference Room, pursuant to the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Government Code Vernon’s Annotated, in accordance with the authority contained in the following section:

Section 551.072 – Deliberation Regarding Real Property
A. Possible acquisition of real property located at 702 Milton A venue.

14. Action as a result of the Executive Session
Council may take any action necessary as a result of the Executive Session.
A. Council may authorize the City to enter into a purchase contract with Milton A venue Baptist Church to buy property located at 702 Milton Avenue.
