They are hard to miss when you drive by the Brownwood TxDOT Office on Highway 183 in Early.  Local TxDOT job crews have converted barrels, normally used in road construction zones, into minions in an effort to get local drivers to slow down in work zones, to reduce fatalities and injuries across Texas.  Some of the signs commonly used in construction zones are displayed in front of the TxDOT office as well.  One major road construction project going on now is Highway 67/84 between Santa Anna and Bangs.  Speed limits are reduced to 60 mph in the zone and crews are working very near the highway so it’s a good time to practice safe driving and work zone awareness.
