Marie Castillo, age 84, of Coleman, died Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, in the Coleman City Cemetery with Rev. Jared Russell officiating.  Inurnment will follow.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

She was born Marie Escobar on November 27, 1938, in Christine, Texas to Guadalupe Escobar and Tomasa Lopes Escobar.  Marie married Ramon Castillo, Jr. in 1961 in Frankfurt, Germany.  He preceded her in death August 7, 1969.  She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.

Marie is survived by two daughters, Maria Felis Mackey of Coleman, and Esther Castillo of Marble Falls; two grandchildren, Joshua Taylor Alvey and wife Nancy of Lelia Lake, Texas, and Josiah Tomas Alvey of Abilene; one great-grandchild, Josie Alvey; and two sisters, Olivia Mungia of Coleman, and Fedelfa Odel of Coleman; and her best friend, Jim Hughes.
