Dr. Larry Troxell, CEO of Comanche County Medical Center, reports that the organization had its best month in history in March. This follows a banner year in 2022 which saw nearly 300% growth in business since 2018.

“Our hospital leadership staff have really put heart and soul into helping us get to this significant milestone. They’ve worked day and night with me and their teams to help grow service lines and provide the best care possible for each and every patient,” says Troxell.

The addition of the Dublin and Rising Star primary care clinics and pharmacies have contributed substantially to CCMC’s recent growth. A $1 million USDA grant and other pandemic-specific programs helped CCMC manage some of the challenges of providing covid care.

“Our growth these past three years has been substantial despite the pandemic,” says Troxell, “Like any rural healthcare system CCMC must operate efficiently and grow its business so that operational costs are manageable, and our health care mission is achieved. We’re doing that.”

The new nursing home construction next to the CCMC Hospital on TX-16 is on-schedule and expected to be completed in November. In recent weeks, the busy construction site has gone from complicated ground-level foundation work to vertical beams, joists, and rafters. Procurement of all the needed furniture, furnishings and equipment for the facility will start in a few weeks.

Several donors and others have toured the site with Troxell or other designated staff.
