Ted was born on December 10, 1942, in Coleman to Dolphus and Ada B. Priddy Ehrler. He grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman
High School in 1962 and remained a loyal Bluecat, attending football games for many years. Ted married his high school sweetheart, Jane Elliott, on September 15, 1962, in Coleman. Ted was a life-long resident of Coleman and a member of the Concho Baptist Church. He worked for the City of Coleman for over 30 years.
Ted was full of life and true friend to all. He loved his friends, new and old, and considered many of them family. He enjoyed going Bass fishing, riding horses, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Ted and Jane loved going on motorcycle trips with their friends exploring new places and restaurants. Together they enjoyed going on the wildflower tour and would also “ride to eat.” Life was always an adventure with Ted, full of love and laughter. He will be missed.
Preceding Ted in death are his parents and infant son, Shannon D. Ehrler.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Ehrler of Coleman; two daughters, Christi Ehrler of Pflugerville and Shanna Hollingsworth and husband Geoffrey of Burnet; two grandchildren, Aaron Hollingsworth of Weatherford, and Haley Hollingsworth of San Angelo; one brother, Tim Ehrler of Coleman; and one niece, Lisa Watson and husband Mack of Coleman.
The family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in memory of Ted be made to the Concho Baptist Church Youth Fund, 1700 S. Concho Street, Coleman, Texas 76834, West Texas Boys Ranch, 10223 Boys Ranch Road, San Angelo, Texas 76904.
