Peggy Mayfield, 74 of Bangs, Tx peacefully passed away Monday April 3, 2023 at her ranch while surrounded by family.
A memorial service will be held Friday April 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM at High Mesa Cowboy Church in Brownwood.
Peggy was born to Roy and Norma Michael on October 18, 1948 in Brownwood, Tx.
Peggy graduated with the class of 1967 from Brownwood High School and shortly after married her high school sweetheart Richard V. Mayfield on November 18, 1967. To this union, three sons were born.
Along with being a wonderful mother, Peggy attended a community college and got her associated degree and worked as a clerk while her husband served in the United States Navy before working for Brownwood Regional Hospital as the secretary of surgery for 12 years.
In her spare time her heart was full when family came to the ranch. She didn’t get out of the house much but loved going shopping with her daughter in-laws and granddaughters.
Peggy is preceded in death by both of her parents; Husband Richard Mayfield, Sisters Glenda Bullard and Veleta Martindale, Son Richard Mayfield, grandson Michael King and great grandson Elijah Flores.
Peggy was married to her husband for 53 years before his passing. She is survived by her sons: Michael Mayfield and his wife Alex of Bangs, Tx, Philip Mayfield and his wife Erica of San Antonio, Tx. 6 grand children: Amanda and husband Greg Flores of Bangs, Tx, Amber and husband Joseph Meeks of Bangs, Tx, Matthew and fiancé Ashton of College Station, Tx, Elissa and partner Geo of Corpus Christy, Tx, Kayla and husband Mikey Flores of Walnut Springs, Tx, Briana and finance Cutter of Brownwood and 9 great grandchildren.
