Dragons Defeat Bluecats, Lady Dragons Blank Santa Anna

BASEBALL

The Bangs Dragons moved to 5-1 in District 7-2A baseball action and 13-5-2 on the season with a 13-5 home victory over Coleman Friday.

Tied with Coleman at 1 after three innings, the Dragons pulled away with four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Coleman crept within 6-2 after and Bangs’ lead was reduced to 6-5 in the top of the sixth, but the Dragons answered with the game’s final seven runs in the bottom half of the inning.

The Dragons host Winters at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

SOFTBALL

The Bangs Lady Dragons kept their District 6-2A softball record unblemished Friday as they began the second half of league play with a 16-0 victory over Santa Anna.

Bangs (17-4, 8-0) – which has now outscored its league foes 113-2 – jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one frame against Santa Anna, which grew to 6-0 after two, 11-0 after three, and 16-0 through four innings.

The Lady Dragons host Menard at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
