Today looks to be an active weather day across the KOXE listening area, a day where we need to have a way to receive weather warnings and a day when the wind is going to be unpleasant.
KOXE Meteorologist Randy Turner shared the following outlook for today’s weather:
“Expect thunderstorms both this morning and this afternoon. These storms may turn severe with the capability of damaging straight-line winds and large hail.
The first round of storms is forecast to occur mid to late morning over Brown, Coleman and Callahan counties or that general area.
The second round of storms, and more widespread and stronger storms, will last from Noon until 6 or 7 tonight and should form a line along and east of a line from Throckmorton to San Angelo and march toward the East.
In addition to the storms, there is a Wind Advisory in effect today into tonight. Expect a West wind of 30 to 40 mph following the storms. This high wind may break small branches and blow around unsecured objects.
Sunny weather is forecast Friday, Saturday and Sunday with high temperatures in the middle 60’s on Friday, the middle 70’s on Saturday and near 80 degrees by Sunday.”
