Peggy Lou (Bowden) Jones, age 70, of Brownwood, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

Graveside Services for Peggy will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early with Richard Hetzel officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Peggy was born on January 11, 1953, to Robert Melvin Bowden and Vivian (Lewis) Bowden, in Brady. She was a graduate of Brownwood High School, class of 1971. Peggy was a lifelong resident of Brownwood and attended Southside Baptist Church. Peggy was a loving wife of 52 years, a mother, and grandmother.

Those left to cherish Peggy’s memory are her husband, Stephen Jones of Brownwood; daughters, Kim Van Huss and husband Dustin of Early and Kathy Davis and husband Michael of Temple; grandchildren, Zoe Van Huss, Dusty Van Huss, Aiden Davis, and Connor Davis; twin sister and brother-in-law, Patsy Dodson and husband Dale of Brownwood; sister, Brenda Moseley of Dallas; as well as a numerous other relatives and friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Vivian Bowden.

The family asks that memorials in Peggy’s name be made to the Corrine T. Smith Animal Shelter (3016 Milam Dr. Brownwood, Texas 76801).
