According to the Brown County Water Improvement District, Lake Brownwood was at 8 feet 4 tenths below spillway level as of 8:30 am Wednesday, February 22.
The water district and its customers remain under mandatory water restrictions, Stage 2 of the Drought Contingency Plan.
As of this week’s report, Lake Brownwood is at 60.7% of capacity, same as last week. The lake received 2 tenths of an inch of rainfall Tuesday night into Wednesday morning at the Lake Dam.
One month ago, Lake Brownwood was at 60.8% capacity. One year ago Lake Brownwood was at 90.4% capacity. Statewide All Lakes 75.2 % Capacity
BCWID#1 is asking all customers to be mindful of wasting water. Please check with your retail water provider for the exact restrictions that you fall under. Recent rainfall has helped slow the descent of Lake Brownwood but much more is needed.
