Julie Clark, 72, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2023, in Brownwood, Texas.
A private interment of ashes ceremony will be held in Ouray, CO, on a later disclosed date where her family and friends will share memories and honor her life as she wished.
Julie Clark was born on August 27, 1950, in Baird, TX to T.C. and Vynomma Clark. She attended grade school in Aspermont, Post, and Hale Center, TX. She attended Abilene Christian University and earned her bachelor’s from Wayland Baptist University and later received her master’s in Education at Texas Tech University. From there, she began a 35-year (1981-2016) teaching career. Julie taught grades K-12 in Hale Center (Akin Elementary), Abilene (Abilene Christian Elementary), O’Donnell (O’Donnell High School), and San Angelo (Lakeview High School). She was immensely adored by her students and fellow teachers. Julie maintained life-long friendships that were sacred to her and carried her through good and difficult times. She leaves us with a greater sense of compassion, forgiveness, and the importance of making the most of the time we have in this life. She loved her people with her whole heart.
Julie is survived by her children, Amber Jones, Damon Estes, and Ashley and Cary Tapley, as well as her grandchildren, Bryson and Miami, Austyn, and Ayden. Other survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Miyong Clark, and her nephews, Brian and Aaron Clark.
The family sends humble gratitude to Pecan Bayou Nursing and Rehabilitation in Brownwood, Redstone Park Assisted Living in Brownwood, Interim Hospice, and Broadmoor Place Assisted Living in Bryan, TX. We also express deep gratitude to Tracy McAllister, Jan Pettit, Pam Clark, and all of Julie’s friends that offered kind encouragement during a difficult time. Thank you to Brownwood Funeral Home. The countless hours spent by caregivers for our mother was truly admirable and a gift to her and her family.
