Brown County remains in Stage 2 of the Drought Contingency Plan which is mandatory water restrictions.
According to information yesterday from the Brown County Water Improvement District:
Lake Brownwood is 8 feet, 3 tenths below spillway of 61.1 of capacity. That is a decrease from 61.4 percent last week and a drop from 62.5 percent one month ago.
Current capacity is a far cry from the 91 percent capacity we enjoyed this time last year.
BCWID#1 suggests to its customers not already doing so to restrict water from outdoor sprinkling, watering lawns, shrubs, driveways, and washing of automobiles to twice per week. The District will also suggest that customers employ “time of day “restrictions.
Please check with your retail water provider for the exact restrictions that you fall under.
