In session on Monday night, January 9, the Brownwood School Board of Trustees unanimously approved an employment contract for superintendent, Dr. Joe Young. The contract runs from January 9th of this year to January 9, 2028.
The school board also approved the 21-22 financial audit of the school district presented by the accounting firm of Pattillo, Brown and Hill. BISD received a clean opinion, the highest level of assurance offered. No issues were found.
In other business, the school board approved a Deed conveying the tennis courts located at Cecil Holman Park to the City of Brownwood.
The Board received a report showing the total enrollment in Brownwood ISD stands at 3,422 students. Of that total, 262 are out of district transfers into BISD from other districts which is an increase of 30 students compared to January of last year.
