Charlie Wayne Brewer, 74, of Brownwood, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his immediate family.

Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel, with Mickey Wayne Isbell officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Charlie was born on April 16, 1948 to Clifford Clifton Brewer and Betty Jo Rodgers, in Lubbock. Charlie was a bull hauler for forty years, starting at the age of 16. He drove for Gene Tongate and R&R Trucking, Cleo and Dwayne Grooms, Ted Simpson, Rodney and Monty Carlisle, Bar C Feed, and John Dockery. In his younger years, Charlie also cowboyed at the Pitchfork Ranch and the 6666 Ranch. In 1980, he met his wife Cheryl, and they were married two weeks later.

He enjoyed reading, western movies, fishing, talking, and working with his sheep. Charlie had a deep value for family first and work second. He had friends far and wide, here and some already passed on. Charlie loved his routine of going to the coffee shop for coffee and breakfast (even if he had already eaten) and visiting with friends. He never met a stranger that he couldn’t talk to and entertain with a story. He hated the telephone and would drive thirty miles out of the way to talk to someone face to face. His handshake was his word. Charlie was a generous soul who gave and never took credit.

Charlie is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Cheryl Brewer; daughter, Sabrina Brewer; granddaughter, Katarina Jo Mann; grandsons, Remington James Turner and Matthew Cole Mann; other family members, James Mann, Brian Keel, and Ruben “R.T.” Turner. He is also survived by many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Betty Jo Brewer, and his son, Patrick Wayne Brewer.

The family offers their special thanks to CCS Hospice Nurses, Carla, Tiffany, and Jennifer, for their care of Charlie, as well as Denice Satterfield.

Memorials can be made to the family to assist with Charlie’s expenses. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
