Brownwood City Council to Meet Tuesday Morning – Agenda Posted

The Brownwood City Council will meet Tuesday, November 8, at 9:00 am at City Hall, 501 Center Avenue. The agenda is below.

6. Citizen Presentations
Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

10. Public Hearing
A. Conduct a public hearing and consider an ordinance on first reading changing the zoning classification of 3104 Highway 377 South from CN Commercial Neighborhood to C-1 Local Business District.
B. Conduct a public hearing and consider an ordinance on first reading closing the remaining 25’x 150′ undeveloped portion of Peach Street beginning at the west line of Hillsboro then west approximately 150′ to a 15′ alley, said portion adjacent to property located at 2615 Hillsboro A venue, legally described as Brownwood Heights, Block 44, Lots 1 and 2.

11. Ordinances and Resolutions
A. Consider an ordinance on first reading approvmg the FY 2021/2022 budget amendments.
B. Consider a resolution awarding a professional contract to Freese and Nichols for the Downtown Plan funded through the 2021 American Rescue Plan grant.

13. Executive Session:
The City Council may convene into a closed executive session in the Haynes Conference Room, pursuant to the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Government Code Vernon’s Annotated, in accordance with the authority contained in the following section:
Section 551.071-Coosultation with Attorney
A. Discuss and consider transfer of ownership of Gordon Wood Stadium to Brownwood ISD.

14. Action as a result of the Executive Session
Council may take any action deemed necessary as a result of the Executive Session, including, conveying Gordon Wood Stadium to Brownwood ISD, pursuant to Section 272.001 (1) of the Local Government Code.
