Funeral services for Charlie M. Crook, Sr., age 80, of Brownwood, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 22, 2022, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating.  Burial will follow in the Salt Creek Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Mr. Crook died on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

Charlie Monroe Crook, Sr. was born on January 22, 1942, in Americus, Georgia to Benjamin Frank Crook and Margaret Passmore Crook.  Charlie served his country in the US Army from 1962 – 1966 where he served in Vietnam.  He was known as a loving son, husband, father, fix-it grandpa, and great-grandpa.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Frances A. Crook, of Brownwood; five children, Charlie E. Crook of San Angelo, Charlie M. Crook, Jr. of Brownwood, Margaret Dean Crook, Tammy Crook of Alabama, and Melissa K. White of Brownwood.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jessie Frank Crook, and a sister, Linda Rose Autrey.

He will be loved always. May he rest in peace.
