The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is hosting a recruiting event targeting specifically currently certified Texas Peace Officers to join DPS in a short academy training opportunity.
This opportunity has occurred only one other time in the history of the agency and DPS is hoping to utilize this opportunity to decrease the number of vacancies in their agency across the state.
This is specifically for B-2023 and C-2023 (Advanced Peace Officer School)
The Northwest Texas Region Open Testing will be in Lubbock on Saturday, October 29, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Texas Department of Public Safety, 1404 Lubbock Business Park Blvd. #100.
The testing will be conducted in Abilene on Saturday, November 5, from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon at Wylie Bulldog Stadium, 4502 Antilley Road.
Trooper-Trainee pay is $5,185 while in Recruit School (30 weeks)
Trooper I Pay is $82,208 annually after successful completion of probationary period (1 year)
Certified officers with 4+ years experience may qualify for Trooper II salary of $100,115 (upon completion of probationary period)
