Johnny Lynn Jackson, of Brownwood, passed away October 9, 2022 at the age of 61.

A graveside memorial will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 2:00 pm, at the May Cemetery, with interment to follow.

Johnny was born October 16, 1960 in Brownwood, TX, to Charlie Dale and Gennettia Pearl (Jan) Jackson of May, TX. Johnny grew up in May, and completed all of his years of school in May ISD. He always shared fond memories of growing up, most of which involved some form of shenanigans with his brothers or cousins, or quality time spent with his Grandma Jackson. Johnny, also, told countless stories of friends from high school and community members that he held in fond regard all these years.

Johnny married Judy Kay Tidwell on April 4, 1992 in May, TX. They began a life journey together that lasted almost 30 years, before her passing last December. Johnny worked a few different jobs over the years, but he spent the bulk of his career as a police officer for the Brownwood Police Department. He loved being an officer, and spent a short amount of time in Winters, Rising Star, and as a Lieutenant for Howard Payne DPS. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed cooking for his family, a good game of cards or Yahtzee, and was always up for a road trip. Most recently, his favorite activity was spoiling grandkids. Johnny will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Johnny is survived by three daughters, Linda Jackson and Jeanette Lancaster, of Brownwood, TX, and Jessica Holman of Rising Star, TX; three sons, Brian Tidwell of Houston, TX, Paul Tidwell (Casondra) and Jeff Jackson of Brownwood, TX; two brothers, Gary Jackson of Abilene, TX and David Jackson (Paige) of Cedar Hill, TX; and seven grandchildren, Natalie and Vivian Tidwell, Bradley and Brayden Potts, Christopher Delgado, and Lexi and Declan Tidwell. He was, also, survived by countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife of almost 30 years, Judy Kay Jackson, his parents, Charlie and Jan Jackson, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
