Jimmy Bartley, age 69, of Coleman, died Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Coleman County Medical Center.
The family will host a time of visitation and reflection from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Tracey Bartley, pastor of Lake Fort Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
He was born Jimmy Glynn Bartley on May 25, 1953, in Amarillo to Billy Carlton Bartley and Patsy June Downey Bartley. He graduated from Coleman High School and attended Angelo State University. Jimmy was a teacher and coach for the Bangs Independent School District and did retail sales in Coleman and Brownwood. He then worked as an operator for the City of Coleman water plant, retiring in 2018. Jimmy married Carolyn Wilson on October 7, 1995, in Coleman. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2009. Jimmy enjoyed working his daily crossword puzzles and watching high school and college sports. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Jimmy is also preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Patsy Bartley.
He is survived by three brothers, Mickey Bartley and wife Alyce of Temple, Rickey Bartley and wife Rachel of Coleman, and Tracey Bartley and wife Kay of Longview; one stepson, Steven Monroe of Coleman; and two step-grandchildren, Tori Monroe and Megan Monroe.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Coleman County Medical Center for the wonderful care that was given to Jimmy.
