He then attended and graduated from Abilene Christian College with a degree in accounting. O.G. enrolled in graduate school at the University of Texas until he was drafted by the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. With this union came two sons, Jon and Joel, along with a lifetime of memories that spanned 64 years. After retirement, O.G. and Dean moved to Voss, Texas to be on their ranch. He was a devout Christian and member of Elm Street Church of Christ. O.G. was one of the founding directors of Camp Blue Haven in New Mexico, giving the youth a wonderful and fun place to learn about Christ. He also enjoyed playing tennis and watching all sports. O.G. was a true University of Texas fan. His love for the Texas Longhorns was evident by his burnt orange attire and the Longhorn welcome mat on his front porch. He leaves behind an amazing legacy for his children and grandchildren.
