Freddy was born in Terry County on July 11, 1933.   He was adopted by Alton and Eunice Tatom shortly thereafter at Hendricks Home for Children, Abilene, TX.  He married Recie Clark Tatom on November 25, 1953.  He was in the US Army and one of their very first homes was in New York City, there they had their 1st son, Larry Mark Tatom.  After Freddy’s discharge, they moved back home where they welcomed their 2nd son, Raymond Lynn Tatom, in Brownwood, TX.   They were married 67 years.

Freddy worked for Johnson Truck and Supply and West Texas Utilities while also farming and ranching.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cross Plains and a Deacon with the church since 1980.  Freddy loved his LORD, his church, and his family.  One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
