The Welcome W. Chandler chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas is hosting Scott Zesch, author of “The Captured,” true stories of abduction by Indians on the Texas Frontier.

The lecture will be held on Monday, October 17, at 2:00 p.m. in Mims Auditorium on the HPU campus.

“We are delighted to host this award-winning Texas author to share more about our local Texas history, how to research and write a non-fiction book and to preserve the history of Texas for generations to come. “The Captured” is on sale at Intermission Book Shop,” said Dr. Julie Welker, President, Welcome W. Chandler Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
