Mollie L. Sears Warner Callahan of Brownwood

Services for Mollie L. Sears Warner Callahan of Brownwood, Texas will be at First Baptist Church of Brownwood, September 8, 2022 at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow at Zephyr Cemetery, under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home Davis-Morris Chapel.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on September 07,2022 at Heritage Funeral Home Davis-Morris Chapel. She passed away at 12:29 pm in Abilene, Texas on August 30, 2022.

Born September 2, 1921, in Brownwood, Texas the oldest of four children born to Thomas A. Sears and Irma Nell Harper Sears.  The Sears and Harper families were prominent pioneer families of Brown County and Brownwood, Texas.

Mollie graduated from Zephyr High School, attended Howard Payne University. She worked for the United States Government during World War II, at both Camp Bowie and Fort Hood. She later worked for the president of the University of Idaho. She worked and lived in San Antonio for 43 years. Mollie worked for a wholesale building material company as a credit manager for 15 years. Upon retiring in 1984, she moved to Brownwood, Texas.

Mollie was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio and First Baptist Church in Brownwood. She taught Sunday school to both young people and adults for 60 years. She was active in both churches, and in PTA at school where her children attended.

Mollie was an amateur artist and belong to the Helotes Art Gallery in San Antonio Texas. Mollie was married to Lt. Colonel Keith L. Warner in 1943 and to M/Sgt. James C. Callahan in 1954.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela L. Warner of Abilene, Texas and son David J. Callahan of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, one granddaughter Mariella Callahan of Boulder, Co., a sister Eva Jo Allen of Brownwood, and a Brother Geo. Maurice and Johnny Sears of Zephyr, TX, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother and sister-in-law, T.A. Sears, and wife.
