Troy Lorenzo Willis, 77 of Cross Plains, Texas, passed away on Thursday July 21, 2022 in Abilene, Texas.

Celebration of life will be held Friday, July 29, at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Cross Plains with Brother Kenneth Reiter officiating.

Troy was born in Odessa, Texas on September 22, 1944 to H C Willis and Ellie Marie Hatten-Willis. He married the love of his life on September 9, 1967 in Midland, Texas.

Troy surrendered his life to Jesus in at First Baptist Church in Cross Plains.  He was a welder for most of his life. After he retired, he served as lawn maintenance at First Baptist Church in Cross Plains.

Troy enjoyed sports, especially football, some of his most cherished memories were the times he spent watching his grandsons play.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Willis and son-in-law, David. He is survived by sons, John Willis and wife, Crystal of Cross Plains, Texas; Troy Willis of Cross Plains, Texas; daughter, Cheri Boner of Eastland, Texas; seven grandchildren, Kristin and husband, Justin Dishman of Eastland, Texas; Justin Willis and wife, Shelby of Abilene, Texas; Aaron Willis of Cross Plains, Texas; James Willis of Cross Plains, Texas; Dakota Willis and fiancé, Shiloh Dodge of Early, Texas; Troy Boner and wife, Gaby of Weatherford, Texas; Ashly Boner of Fort Worth, Texas; four great grandchildren, Berkley Lynn Willis; Charlie Ann Willis; Silas Cole Willis, and Brandon Paul Boner; brother, Doyle Willis and wife, Jan; sister, Dorothy Horell; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
